Two people are facing multiple drug-trafficking-related charges after an investigation by provincial police in Orillia.
On Friday, July 14, around 3:00 p.m., Orillia OPP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which they say had been under "physical surveillance."
"Numerous drugs, scales, cell phones and Canadian Currency were seized as part of the investigation," police wrote in a release. "Two individuals were charged following the incident."
Officers seized the following:
- Fentanyl
- Cocaine
- Crack Cocaine
- Drug packaging, Digital scales
- $1725 Cash
- 3 cellular devices
A 35-year-old from Orillia was charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I substance - Purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Schedule I substance - Purpose of trafficking - Fentanyl
- Possession of proceeds of crime (currency) under $5,000
- Trafficking in Schedule I substance - Cocaine
While a 22-year-old from Orillia was charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I substance - Purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Schedule I substance - Purpose of trafficking - Fentanyl
- Possession of proceeds of crime (currency) under $5,000
Both are scheduled to appear in Orillia court on August 15.
