Drugs seized, two charged following drug-trafficking investigation in Orillia

OPP say they seized fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine

Two people are facing multiple drug-trafficking-related charges after an investigation by provincial police in Orillia.

On Friday, July 14, around 3:00 p.m., Orillia OPP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which they say had been under "physical surveillance."

"Numerous drugs, scales, cell phones and Canadian Currency were seized as part of the investigation," police wrote in a release. "Two individuals were charged following the incident."

Officers seized the following:

  • Fentanyl
  • Cocaine
  • Crack Cocaine
  • Drug packaging, Digital scales
  • $1725 Cash
  • 3 cellular devices

A 35-year-old from Orillia was charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance - Purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of Schedule I substance - Purpose of trafficking - Fentanyl
  • Possession of proceeds of crime (currency) under $5,000
  • Trafficking in Schedule I substance - Cocaine

While a 22-year-old from Orillia was charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance - Purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of Schedule I substance - Purpose of trafficking - Fentanyl
  • Possession of proceeds of crime (currency) under $5,000

Both are scheduled to appear in Orillia court on August 15.
