E-bike rider in Toronto trauma centre following collision with pedestrian in Barrie

Pedestrian was struck while crossing the road

Barrie police have updated their investigation into a collision between an e-bike and a pedestrian on Edgehill Drive at Ferndale Drive on Tuesday afternoon.

Initially, police had said the vehicle involved was a motorcycle.

Spokesperson Peter Leon told Barrie 360 the pedestrian was struck while crossing the road.

The 44-year-old man was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie for treatment of injuries.

The 45-year-old male driver of the e-bike, who is from Barrie, was also taken to RVH then airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre.

The investigation into the collision continues.
