Easter Weekend – What’s Open and Closed

Triple threat this weekend with closures Friday, Sunday and Monday

As Easter weekend approaches, chances are you want to know what’s open and closed so that you can plan accordingly. Below is a list of common businesses and services people ask about.

But first, when is Easter this year, and what days are holidays?

What Day Is Easter?

Easter is one of the major holidays in Canada. But because the date varies drastically from one year to another, it can be hard to keep track of when Easter is every year.

The date of Easter is determined by astronomical calculations based on the lunar cycle. More specifically, Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox when the sun is directly above the equator.

In 2023, Easter is on April 9.
