
A man in his early 70s was left injured Tuesday after he was the victim of a scam designed to defraud him of his money, according to Barrie Police.
Just before 9 p.m., police received a report about a man that had been found injured in a parking lot on Lakeshore Drive in Barrie.
The subsequent investigation commenced by the Barrie Police Criminal Investigation Division made the service aware of a scheme designed to defraud the man of his money.

SEQUENCE
The victim told police that he'd received an unexpected call from an unknown man an just over an hour prior. He added that the caller stated he was a suspect in a fraud investigation and that to expect police to come to his house and arrest him.
On the other end, the unknown man convinced the victim to attend a financial institution on Collier Street, prompting the victim to take a cab to the location.
An man there identified himself as the bank manager and told the victim they needed to go to another bank located at Minets Point Road and Yonge Street. The senior got into the alleged bank manger’s car and headed to that bank where a cheque was deposited into the victim’s bank account.
The alleged manager drove the victim away from the latter bank and stopped in the parking lot on Lakeshore where he removed him from the car, and drove away with his walker.
The senior fell to the ground without being able to use his walker and sustained some facial injuries. He was later transported to a local hospital for treatment.
SUSPECT
Police say the alleged bank manager is a primary suspect. According to a number of resources, the suspect is a described as:
- male
- 30-40 years old
- brown complexion
- black hair
- beard
- wearing a black shirt
- driving and a black Cadillac
The alleged bank manager, who is now considered a primary suspect in this scheme,
