Provincial police have charged a woman after it's alleged she tried to steal an elderly couple's vehicle at a medical centre in Alliston.
Officers were called to the Mill Pond Medical Centre on Victoria Street West around 11 a.m. on Monday.
Police say they found the couple in a fight with a female.
"The parties were separated, and further investigation revealed that the accused had attempted to steal the couple's idling vehicle while one of them was still seated in the passenger seat," OPP said in a news release.
Police said this led to a confrontation between the owners of the vehicle and the suspect.
A 30-year-old woman of no fixed address was charged with two counts of assault and one count each of mischief under $5,000 and theft of a motor vehicle.
The accused was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.
