Getting married by Elvis is to Las Vegas as "peanut butter is to jelly," but a recent shakeup has dramatically changed that.
Authentic Brands Group, a company that controls the King's likeness, issued cease-and-desist letters to Las Vegas chapels that offer Elvis theme ceremonies.
That means those quaint little chapels can't perform the popular ceremony, which is a huge blow to business.
Unless the order is lifted, it could mean the end of getting hitched by someone in a sequined jumpsuit.
The wedding industry generates $2 billion a year for Sin City, and a huge portion of that is from Elvis-themed ceremonies.
It's not known if the ban extends to Graceland, which performs around sixty-four hundred weddings a year.
