Nottawasaga OPP say they seized suspected cocaine after a person tried to hide from officers during a traffic stop.

Around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, police say an officer on patrol in Angus saw a vehicle that came to a stop and then was shut off, and the driver climbed into the passenger seat before attempting to hide.

The woman was known to the police, and she had outstanding warrants. In the vehicle, police say they found suspected cocaine along with a scale and a large amount of Canadian money.

A 54-year-old Essa Township woman was charged with drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

She was held for a bail hearing.
