Bravado! Show Choir is thrilled to bring the magic of Broadway to Barrie’s Georgian Theatre
taking the audience on an exciting musical journey through some of the most beloved showtunes of all
time. From timeless classics to modern favourites, Curtains Up! – A Broadway Celebration is a live
experience you won’t want to miss.

Step into a historic theatre where a stage manager and crew discover the stories of legendary
productions as they prepare to close the doors one final time. Through unforgettable music,
choreography and storytelling, the stage will come alive with the spirit of Broadway’s greatest moments.
Musically directed by Ellen Wells with choreography by Adele MacKenzie, David Lopez, Samantha
Wallace, Amber Kaufman, and Bob Fosse, the show features the incredible voices of Bravado! Show
Choir with a special performance by the Hamilton School of Irish Dance. Curtains Up! promises an
evening of lively entertainment, nostalgia and pure theatrical energy.

Backed by a live band, guests can expect cherished Broadway classics like “One Day More” from Les
Miserables and “All That Jazz” from Chicago. We’ll also bring to life a variety of crowd favourites from
modern Broadway musicals like “Dancing Through Life” from Wicked and “Raise You Up/Just Be” from
Kinky Boots.

The show offers something for everyone’s tastes, taking audiences on a powerful roller coaster of
emotions. One moment you’ll be dancing and singing in your seat, the next you could be moved to tears –
it’s all part of the Broadway experience.

“Bravado! redefines choir. We are a unique ensemble, not just in Barrie but all of Ontario. We are
known for bold, dynamic and innovative performances,” says Wells. “Our goal for Curtains Up! is
to immerse audiences in the music and the stories unfolding in song on the stage. The audience
can expect to sing along with familiar musical theatre blockbusters and discover new favourites.”

This highly anticipated show, complete with costumes, sets and electrifying energy, will be taking place
at the Georgian Theatre in Barrie for an evening performance on Fri., May 1, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. and a
matinee on Sat., May 2, 2026 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.
