Ontario Provincial Police say a motorist who was the victim of a fail to remain crash flagged down officers early New Year's Day in Midland.

Police say the man's car appeared to intentionally block a residential driveway on Hugel Avenue.

After talking with him, they learned that a car parked in the driveway was involved in a nearby collision with the motorist and the vehicle fled the scene and ended up at the residence.

Officers spoke with the other driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation.

Inside the vehicle, police say they seized open liquor and a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine.

A 25-year-old from Pentanguishene was charged with impaired driving, careless driving, novice driver with a blood aclohol content above zero, fail to remain and driving with open liquor.

His vehicle was impounded for seven days, and his driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused has a court date later this month.
