Fast food bandit nabbed by Barrie police

Police allege they seized a weapon used in the robbery attempt
Barrie Police

A man wanted take-out cash rather than food.

Barrie police were called around 11 p.m. on Thursday about an attempted robbery at a fast food restaurant on High Street.

The suspect fled empty-handed and was nabbed a short distance away.

Police allege they found a weapon in his possession that was used during the robbery attempt.

A 31-year-old of no fixed address has been charged with attempted robbery and failure to comply with a release order.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday.

Police say they are searching for a second male suspect.
