Fatality Shuts Down Barrie GO Train Line

Two Hour Delays Should Be Expected

GO Transit says a fatality on the Barrie line suspended train service Wednesday afternoon. Trains have since resumed service.

GO Transit stopped all trains at Maple GO Station until shortly after 5:00, while no buses were made available beyond that. GO Transit says over 8,000 people depend on the Barrie Line, and there are not enough buses to go around. Regular service resumed several hours after it was first suspended, while the police investigation continues.

The fatality was reported just north of Maple GO Station, while a cause of this death was not immediately made available by police.
