Or maybe he was just being nice?

The comedian is in Toronto for TIFF, and was gifted a box of Tim Hortons Timbits on Wednesday night by TIFF CEO Cameron Baily.

Bailey gifted Ferrell the box of confections because of a long-running joke in Ferrell's latest film, a documentary called "Will & Harper" in which Ferrell wants to go to Dunkin’ Donuts regularly while in a long road trip.

The film follows Ferrell and his good friend Harper Steele on a 16-day trip through America after Steele comes out as a trans woman and announces her transition.

The two met in 1995 on their first day on the Saturday Night Live set. Steele eventually went on to become head writer on the show, and was known back then as Andrew Steele.
