Fire rips through Donald Street home in Barrie

There were no injuries

UPDATE: Barrie Fire Service says investigators have determined the fire started in the attic, though no cause has been determined. It's expected damages to the home will run into hundreds of thousands of dollars.

As well, the fire service added that a cat was also rescued from the house.

Flames were seen shooting through the roof of a home on Donald Street at Eccles Street in Barrie.

A fire department spokesperson told Barrie 360 that the call came in around four Wednesday afternoon, and added that nobody was home at the time.

According to At the Scene Photography, firefighters were able to remove a dog from the residence.

There were no injuries.

A damage total is not available and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
