being prepared should a fire strike.

The focus of Fire Prevention Week is to educate people regarding three basic and essential steps that can be taken to reduce the likelihood of experiencing a fire, and how to safely escape if a fire does occur. These steps include:
- determine places fire could start by taking a good look around your home and identifying potential fire hazards
- listen for the sound of your smoke alarm; you could have only minutes to escape safely once your smoke alarm sounds
- learn two exit points out of every room in your home.
