A man who provincial police say was charged following a domestic disturbance in Oro-Medonte racked up other offences after he allegedly returned to the same home.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they responded to the domestic on March 2 and officers took a man into custody and brought him to the Orillia OPP detachment.

Upon further investigation, the 35-year-old from Oro-Medonte was charged with two counts of assault and one count each of mischief and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.

Police say the man was released from custody with a future court date and several conditions, while safety planning was conducted with the alleged victim.

"Several items, including a firearm, and a possession and acquisition licence (PAL), were seized from the residence in accordance with the conditions placed on the accused," OPP stated in a news release.

Police then received a call from a witness that the man was back at the residence.

The suspect was arrested again and additionally charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and one count each of resisting police, mischief and forcible entry.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
