There are a number of “must-do” activities worth experiencing before the big guy in red comes down the chimney and eats all of those cookies. ‘First Light’ at Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons is one of those things you need to do.
Now in its 20th year
Sainte-Marie’s ‘First Light’ is perfect for the whole family, a date or just to see for yourself. From the entrance to the exit, a spectacular amber glow of over 5,000 candles direct you throughout the historic 17th-century mission.
Warming up after strolling the candlelit paths at First Light
Of course there is hot chocolate, music, activities, food and 40 artisans are there for that special gift. A Nativity crèche is on display in the stables near the Farmer’s Dwelling. There are children’s crafts and historic demonstrations.
