A months-long investigation into graffiti across Barrie has resulted in over a hundred charges laid against five suspects.
Police say investigators probed hundreds of reports of graffiti-related incidents in the city and determined the same suspects were responsible. Symbols, pictures, and tags associated with each suspect were sprayed on such public property as bridges, schools, and fences, along with private businesses and other highly visible locations.
According to Barrie Police, the graffiti resulted in more than $75,000 in removal and repair costs.
A total of 113 charges have been laid against four Barrie suspects, aged 19, 24, 29, and 32, along with a 20-year-old from Springwater. Barrie Police say another 50 charges are pending.
