(UPDATE) Five dead, including teens, after Highway 60 crash: Huntsville OPP

OPP

Provincial police in Huntsville say five people are dead following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 60 Saturday night.

OPP and emergency services responded to the scene - near Hidden Valley Road - around 11:10 p.m.

Police say the collision involved a westbound Mercedes SUV and an eastbound Ford SUV.

"The Mercedes contained four individuals between the ages of 15 and 17 years of age from North York and Richmond Hill area," police wrote in a release, and say three were pronounced dead at the scene while one was transported to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

OPP say the driver of the Ford was a 42-year-old Huntsville woman, who also died at the scene.

Highway 60 was closed for several hours while OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members conducted a preliminary investigation. The roadway has since reopened.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact Huntsville OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
