March 6th
The South Simcoe Police Service is thanking social media and the folks that use it, after arresting two in connection to an Alcona shoplifting. A 29-year-old man and 22-year-old woman turned themselves into police following pressure on social media.
Police released images of the pair that Barrie 360 has since removed from this post, images police say helped generate tips that lead to the two turning themselves in.

Two people in Alcona were allegedly captured on camera helping themselves to stuff from a drug store’s shelves and leaving without paying.
South Simcoe Police say the pair went into an Innisfil Beach Rd. pharmacy around 4:00 Friday afternoon, then took several items before fleeing on foot.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects is asked to contact the investigating officer, Constable Jeff Cowie, at (905)-775-3311 or (705)-436-2141 extension 1416.
