Five stunt driving charges handed out over 48 hours in Nottawasaga OPP stomping grounds

All five had vehicles impounded and licences suspended for a week

A busy 48 hours for Nottawasaga OPP after charging five motorists with stunt driving over that time.

Just before 9:00 Tuesday, a 27-year-old Tottenham driver was charged with hitting 121km/h in a 60 zone along Tottenham Road. About 90 minutes later, a 19-year-old was charged after police say he was travelling at 137km/h, also in a 60 zone near Tottenham

On Wednesday morning, right around 7:30, a 20-year-old is accused of hitting 115km/h in a 60 zone, while a 56-year-old was riding a motorcycle along a 50kmh zone on Mill St. in Angus when he’s accused of hitting speeds of 111km/h.

On Thursday, nearly 48 hours after the first charge, a 23-year-old from Alliston was charged with travelling at speeds of 124km/h in a posted 60 zone along Highway 50.

In all cases, stunt driving charges were laid, which comes with an immediate seven-day vehicle impound and driver’s licence suspension. All five will appear in Bradford court to answer to charges laid.
