A 19-year-old G2 driver from Barrie has been charged after a vehicle left the road and crashed onto a lawn in Gravenhurst.
Around 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Bracebridge OPP say they were alerted about the crash on Muskoka Beach Road near Old Muskoka Road.
Police say the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed in a residential area when the crash happened. The driver fled the scene.
"Officers conducted an investigation into the collision and were able to connect with the registered owner of the vehicle, who attended the scene to meet with officers, after collecting the driver," police said in a news release on Wednesday.
The driver was charged with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
