Barrie Police charged a G2 driver with stunt driving after a vehicle was clocked travelling more than double the speed limit on Yonge Street on Sept. 20, 2026.

A 19-year-old man is facing a stunt driving charge after Barrie police say he was caught travelling more than twice the speed limit.

Police stopped the G2 driver around 11 a.m. Sunday on Yonge Street, south of D’Ambrosio Drive.

Police say the vehicle was travelling 105 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone.

The Barrie resident was charged with stunt driving.

His driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. Police say the registered owner is responsible for the impound costs.

"There is no excuse for these speeds on city streets," police said in a social media post.
