A number of occupants at an east-end Barrie home were able to escape the residence following a garage fire Monday morning.
According to fire officials, the call about the blaze on Ambler Bay came in around 2:30 am.
A fire spokesman tells Barrie 360 the flames were quickly knocked down, but there is extensive smoke damage to the interior of the home.
There were working smoke alarms in the residence.
Damage is pegged at about $150,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
