3 youths sought following gas station mischief in Barrie

An employee of a Shell gas station on Bayfield Street saw what was coming and took action.

Barrie police say the clerk contacted them shortly after 7:30 Wednesday night to report a trio of disorderly youths.

"From the investigation that followed, police learned that this group of youths had in the past attended the store and had stolen a number of items. Last night, the clerk recognized the trio as they walked towards the store and locked the door preventing their entry. Frustrated by this preventative action, one of the youths picked up a rock and threw it at a window, causing a glass window to crack," police said in a news release.

Investigators got photographs of the suspects from surveillance video at a nearby fast-food restaurant.

"Regrettably, due to provisions contained within the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), the pictures cannot be shared publicly," police added.

From the photographs, police believe the youths are all between 14 and 16 years of age.

Investigators have provided the following descriptions:

Suspect 1:

Wearing a matching gray hoodie (up over the head) and gray sweat pant outfit with a large tree on the left side of the hoodie and upper right thigh of the sweat pant

Carrying a black satchel over the left shoulder

Black running shoes with a white mid sole.

Suspect #2:

Wearing a black or navy-blue hoodie, black athletic pants with a cuffed bottom, white socks and black coloured running shoes

Had a medical mask under the chin and attached to both ears

very dark, thick and wavy black hair, that appeared to be parted on the left side.

Suspect #3:

Wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, black Adidas style athletic pants with a cuffed bottom

White low cut Nike runners with a black swoosh.

If anyone recognizes the description of these youths or knows who they are, Constable Alston by email at kalston@barriepolice.ca.
