71-year-old Gerry Turner is looking for love. The retired restaurateur has been announced s the newest bachelor and the first-ever golden bachelor.

He was introduced to audiences on Good Morning America on Monday, and according to his synopsis, he "lives in his dream house on a beautiful lake in Indiana. He's often busy hosting barbecues, playing pickleball, cheering on his favourite Chicago sports teams, four-wheeling, and spending time with friends and family at restaurants and local haunts."

The father of two married his High School Sweetheart, Toni, in 1974.
Sadly she passed away in 2017, only six weeks after she retired.

He says he knows his wife is up there rooting for him, saying, " yeah Gerry, do this."

Turner's daughters are supportive of his role as the bachelor, and they were the ones who suggested he sign up.

If they ever do a Golden Bachelor Canadian series, I vote for Dan Blakeley.

The Golden Bachelor premiers this fall.
