Newly Founded Organization Raising Funds For First Annual Festival
Tickets are now on offer for a fundraising spectacle supporting a brand new organization in town.
Innisfil Pride is still locking down details of its very first Pride Festival in late July, and to support the event, organizers are inviting everyone to Get Wiggy With It.
A fundraising Drag Performance and Dance Night is planned for this Saturday evening, with funds going directly into supporting Pride. Co-founder Amanda Wattie says that’s not all however. “In the future we’re looking to help out youth and children, and people at risk. Just try to foster a really good sense of community, to make them feel like they belong, and help some people who really need it the most.”
Wattie adds it’s not just a drag show either. “It’s followed by a fun dance party for everyone. If you want to continue partying and have fun, we have food, we have drinks. We’re going to be having some contests as well, with some giveaways. It’s just going to be a really fun night.”
Tickets go for $30 in advance, or $40 at the door. The Stone Grill in Innisfil will play host to the event, with doors opening at 8:30.
