We know the benefits of a hug, but a new study suggests hugging yourself can have the same effect.

All it takes is 20 seconds of wrapping yourself in a warm embrace.

 Boing Boing, research at UC Berkeley says this simple act will put a smile on your face.

Just close your eyes, think about your troubles and give yourself a hug that's as good as you would give a friend.

Be sure to give yourself grace, and even though it sounds cheesy, be a friend to yourself.

Research shows that those who did this every day for a month relieved stress and felt happier in general.

So go on, and give yourself some love.
