
GO trains will continue to run on a modified schedule Wednesday after a train derailment near Union Station in Toronto caused major disruptions on Monday.
Thousands of commuters experienced long delays on Monday after a GO train leaving Union Station derailed at low speed and made contact with a track switch, which caused signal system disruptions across the network.
Metrolinx says the train was put back on the tracks and the majority of necessary track repairs have been completed, but the signal system sustained "significant damage" that still needs repairs.

It says those repairs will take longer and will likely impact train schedules "into the coming days."
The derailment also caused a temporary suspension of the UP Express train service between Union Station and Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday.
