A day of golf, community spirit, and fundraising has resulted in a major boost for local charities, as the annual Innisfil Mayor’s Golf Tournament raised $88,000 for the Innisfil Community Foundation.
The popular event was held this week at Friday Harbour Resort, drawing a sold-out crowd of players, sponsors, and volunteers. Organizers say the strong turnout highlights the community’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that address key social challenges in Innisfil.
Community support at the heart of event
Mayor Lynn Dollin praised the collective effort behind the tournament’s success, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in supporting local causes.
"Days like today really show what we can achieve when we all come together,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin. "The Innisfil Community Foundation does so much to help our community thrive, and I’m proud we can support them each year with this tournament. Thank you to the players, sponsors, donors, and volunteers for your generosity, and to the incredible team at The Nest for making it all possible.”
The tournament has become a staple fundraising event for the town, bringing together businesses, golf enthusiasts, and residents in support of organizations that rely on community funding.
Funding supports critical local needs
All proceeds from the tournament go directly to the Innisfil Community Foundation, which partners with local charities and non-profits to address issues such as poverty, food insecurity, and mental health.
Foundation Chair Sandra Rizzardo said the impact of the tournament extends well beyond the golf course.
"The Mayor’s Golf Tournament is an important source of support for organizations that make a difference in our community," she said. "The funds raised help us invest in local programs and services that support residents and improve community well-being. We’re grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to the tournament’s success."
With another successful tournament in the books, organizers say the event continues to demonstrate the power of community collaboration in driving meaningful change at the local level.
