If you were hoping for a fifth and final season of "Good Girls," I've got bad news.

Retta, who plays Ruby Hill on the hit NBC show, spoke briefly about the show's cancellation on "Live with Kelly and Ryan," saying she was "salty" about it.

Retta said the show's swan song was close to happening, but "one person ruined it for all of the cast and crew, and so it's not back," she said.

The hosts asked her why the unnamed cast member couldn't be replaced or killed off the show.

Retta explained "the decision was made too close to when production would've started. So, the show didn't have the time to rewrite the season."

Kelly replied, "Look, I come from the Soap Opera world. I can give you ideas on how to get rid of someone in a show. You name it, I write it."

It's a sore spot for show fans, whose fourth season ended on a cliff hangar with unresolved storylines.

The fifth season was supposed to return for eight episodes to offer closure.

Reports say at the time, the show's three leading ladies, Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, and Retta, all agreed to take pay cuts to make that happen.

So who's the holdout?

Rumour has it negotiations between actor Manny Montano, who played the crime boss "Rio," and the network failed.

One report said money and scheduling conflicts with the actor were one of the reasons the season wouldn't go ahead.

Others are quick to defend the actor, saying the cancellation shouldn't all be pinned on him.

Let's hope they can eventually write something for the fans, and we can get closure.
