Bracebridge OPP say they have determined the cause of a structure fire in Gravenhurst last summer that left a woman dead.

On August 31, 2021, just after 2:30 a.m., officers, along with emergency services, responded to a blaze at a multi-unit complex on First Street South.

A 50-year-old Gravenhurst woman died as a result.

The Bracebridge Crime Unit investigation, and with assistance from the Office of the Fire Marshal, determined the cause of the fire to be accidental, originating in the front porch area.
