Guide To Canada Day Weekend In Barrie!

Happy Birthday, Canada!

Another weekend of activities, food, and fun, 152 years in the making! From shopping to shows, there is a ton of stuff going on all over Barrie for Canada Day! I'll see you down there eh?

Airshow

There are 2 chances for you to witness the spectacular airshow featuring the iconic snowbirds and CF-18 Demo Team with the first show on June 28 at 6 PM and a second show on June 29 at 1 PM. You can watch the whole show for free at the Barrie Waterfront! Be sure to tune your radio to 87.9 FM for show commentary, safety messages, and special announcements. At Heritage Park, you can also check out Base Borden displays on June 29th and a kiddie commando course! Finally, Top Gun will be shown at Meridian Place on June 29th at 9:30 PM and some of the airshow pilots and crew will be there to watch with you!

Terminal 4 at Five Points Theatre

In addition to the airshow, there will also be a few other aviation-themed events going on over the weekend including Terminal 4 at the Five Points Theatre on June 29th to July 1st from 11am-6pm where you can enjoy virtual reality simulators, aviation-themed story-time with the Barrie Public Library from 11 AM to 1 PM, and other aviation-themed displays! The concession/bar will also be open!

Promenade Days

Promenade Days is back and better than ever! The longest running Canada Day event in the region promises to be four days of fun, excitement, and entertainment! Check out all the local shops, restaurants, patios, and activities in a street market atmosphere!

Entertainment And Fireworks

Along with all the shopping, food, and activities, there will also be music and performances all weekend long with Canadian country music superstar Aaron Goodvi headlining the Promenade days stage supported by up-and-comer Kalsey Kulyk! The weekend culminates in a massive fireworks display over Lake Simcoe at 10 PM on Canada Day! (Rain will push the fireworks back to July 2nd at the same time!)

Barrie Wrestling

A ring near Meridian Place will be the site for Barrie Wrestling this year! Tons of energy and excitement for the whole family! Cheer on your favourite and see who will claim the titles of Canada Day Champion and Barrie Wrestling Heavyweight champion!

Greenstreet

Greenstreet

Located at Dunlop & Owen Street, Greenstreet incorporates real grass on the street, celebrating the importance of the outdoors with games and activities that the kids will love!

Family Fun Zone

Head to Heritage Park on Canada Day for the Family Fun Zone hosted by Tim Hortons! There will be tons of games and inflatables from Party Tyme Treats & Amusements, Free face painting with Clarabella the Clown, free exhibits and activities including Canadian wildlife displays, kids dance and more! Vendors will also be on site with furniture, accessories, jewelry, sweets, hot food, cold drinks, clothing and much more!

Let's celebrate another year in style Barrie! There are so many reasons to get "oot and aboot" this long weekend!
