Guide To Kempenfest: Barrie’s Arts and Music Festival
The perfect long weekend adventure!
You wait patiently for it every year and now it’s just around the corner! August 2nd marks the start of this years Kempenfest with music, food, and activities running all weekend long!
Live Music
Kempenfest always has a fantastic line-up of artists and this year is no different! Each and every day will see tons of great bands taking the stage.
Friday
Kicking off the weekend will be headliner Jordan Johh with special guests Cameo Blues Band, Da’Blooze Bros, Chuck Jackson, and Walter Zwol! The show is from 6 PM to 10 PM and gates open at 5 PM.
Saturday
Get ready to rock out on Saturday! Loverboy will be working for the weekend with special guest Teenage Head and many more! The show is from noon to 10 PM and gates open at 11 AM!
Sunday
If driving your pick-up truck down an old dirt road in your daisy dukes sounds like your kind of weekend, then Sunday is your day! Headliner Jess Moskaluke with special guests Bareback Riders, Kansas Stone and many more will be kicking it all day long! The show is from noon to 10 PM and gates open at 11 AM.
Monday
Wrapping up the festival will be The Martels with special guest The Dreamboats! Get ready to step back in time with some old fashion rock n’ roll! The show is from noon to 6 PM and gates open at 11 AM!
Arts, Crafts, and Food
This years event will see over 350 exhibitors across the entire 2km event space with 3 distinct sub-categories. There is a massive list of vendors so be sure to check out the full list!
Original Arts and Crafts
A large collection of artists offering hand-crafted work! Support your local artisans! Mostly located in Centennial Park.
Tastes of Kempenfest
Fill your fridge with the tastes of locally made food like jams, preserves, fudges, chocolates and more! Mostly located on the South Shore between Tiffin Launch and the Sundial.
The Marketplace
A section for new and innovative products from Canadian sources that you won’t find in stores! Mostly located on the South Shore between the main stage and the Sundial.
Antiques and Collectables
If you’re looking to find that missing piece to your collection then the Antiques and Collectables section of Kempenfest might have what you’re looking for! Original creations like farm scales that have been turned into coffee tables or church windows that have been transformed to incorporate mirrors to collectibles like beer and Pepsi signs!
Kids Activities
From end to end, Kempenfest has tons of fun for the kids to enjoy. Grab a ride on the drop-zone and a enjoy some cotton candy (in that order) at the midway or take a dip at the beach and check out the inflatable water park! Tim Hortons is also hosting a family center with tons of activities like a giant mural and bird-house painting and even a quiet place for nursing moms to take a break!
