South Simcoe Police began an investigation after receiving information from the Mounties

A guilty plea on Thursday from an Innisfil man arrested in February 2019 in connection with a child pornography and child luring case that involved victims in Western Canada and the United States.

South Simcoe Police started an investigation after receiving information from the RCMP regarding child pornography involving a 12-year-old girl over Snapchat, Instagram and other social media sites.

Police executed a search warrant at a home on the 9th Line and 25th Sideroad area of Innisfil at the time of the arrest. Additional charges were laid in January 2020 against 24-year-old Shiva Dhanna after further investigation identified a second child victim in the U.S.

Dhanna pleaded guilty to extortion, possession of child pornography, making child pornography and two counts of luring a person under 18 by means of telecommunications.
