Two men from Scarborough have been charged

Two men from Scarborough face a total of more than 30 charges following a traffic stop in Innisfil.

Around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, a South Simcoe Police officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Yonge Street and Innisfil Beach Road. The officer detected the odour of marijuana and spotted drug paraphernalia in the front seat. Police say a search of the vehicle turned up a loaded handgun, ammunition, cash and drugs including suspected cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and bags of marijuana.

Both suspects, ages 28 and 35, were charged with weapon and drug-related offences.

The accused were held for a bail hearing.
