Guns, drugs and cash seized during drug busts in Tay Township and Innisfil

Three people face a total of 17 charges

Search warrants executed Thursday at a condominium complex on Sea Ray Avenue in Innisfil and at a two homes in Tay Township, on Old Fort Road and Lumber Road, netted police handguns and a significant amount of cocaine.

The warrants were executed by members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police Southern Georgian Bay Detachment with the assistance of the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and CSCU teams from Orillia, Collingwood/Huronia West and Nottawasaga Detachments.

Investigators located and seized the following items:

  • 2.5 kilograms of cocaine
  • 1 kilogram of phenacetin
  • 174 grams of cannabis resin
  • 9 mm Norinco semi-automatic pistol
  • 9 mm Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol
  • 164 rounds of ammunition
  • $55,195 Canadian currency
  • Drug Trafficking paraphernalia
  • 2015 BMW sedan
  • 2006 Dodge Ram pickup truck

A 27-year-old Innisfil man and a 26-year-old Innisfil woman face a total of 15 charges including drug and weapons offences. A 27-year-old Tay Township man has been charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
