Gwyneth Paltrow explains the purpose of Goop’s overpriced luxury diapers

The diapers are meant to shine light on diaper affordability

Gwyneth Paltrow wanted to tick us off with her luxury, overpriced diapers.

Last week, her lifestyle brand “Goop” announced their luxury disposable diapers, lined with virgin alpaca wool, and fastened with amber gemstones.

The price tag is an insane $120 for a pack of twelve.

If that seemed nuts to you, Paltrow agrees.

The diapers are fake and meant to shine light on a problem of affordability.

Paltrow took to Instagram to explain that “if treating diapers like a luxury makes you mad, so should taxing them like a luxury good.”

“Despite the absolute necessity of diapers, 33 states tax them like a luxury good, leaving 1 in 3 families struggling to afford them,” she added.

Goop has joined forces with @baby2baby to help change the luxury tax and help families in need of diapers, formula, and other essentials. Head here for more information.
