Four years ago, Elnaz Hajtamiri was abducted from a home on Trailwood Place in Wasaga Beach, and Ontario Provincial Police said on Monday that they have identified potential ties to Timmins, the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Hajtamiri was 37 at the time of the abduction by three suspects who entered the residence around 830 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2022, wearing fake police gear and pretending to be executing a warrant.
Weeks prior, on Dec. 20, 2021, police had previously said that Hajtamiri was struck with a frying pan in an underground parking garage in Richmond Hill. The suspects fled in a vehicle and Hajtamiri was treated in hospital for life-threatening injuries.
Police said when Hajtamiri was abducted from the Wasaga Beach home, the suspects fled in a white Lexus RV SUV.
Four suspects were charged in connection with the December attack, including Hajtamiri's ex-boyfriend, who is also charged with her murder, even though no body has been found.
Three more suspects were arrested in the Richmond Hill attack in 2023.
A joint $100,000 reward is being offered by the provincial government and York Regional Police for information that will lead to Hajtamiri's whereabouts.
"Elnaz's family and friends have endured years of missed memories, celebrations and holidays without her and we remain committed to finding the answers they deserve," said Det.-Insp. Stephen Martell of the OPP's criminal investigations branch. "While we cannot speak to the specific ties our investigation has to several regions, we know someone in those areas has information that could help and urge them to come forward."
Hajtamiri is described as approximately 160 centimetres (five-foot-three) tall with a slim build and black hair.
