A man and a woman in their 20s from Bradford face drug and weapons-related charges after Barrie police say they seized a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in the city.
According to police, the traffic stop was initiated Sept. 6 when officers pulled over a vehicle with a suspected impaired driver. Police say they discovered the gun, along with cash and suspected drugs.
Both suspects face eight weapons-related charges, and the male suspect is also up on three drug-related offences.
Following a bail hearing, the man was remanded in custody while the woman was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
