It's going to be the heat and the humidity!

Environment Canada has issued a yellow alert heat warning for the Barrie and Collingwood area, and for most of the Greater Toronto Area.

Daytime highs will flirt with 30 C, and humidex levels will be in the mid-30s on Monday and Tuesday. Overnight lows will be in the 18-20 C range.

The flip to summertime heat may even feel more dramatic after a spring that has been cool, grey, and damp.

The normal high for this time of year in Barrie is 20 C, and the average low is 7 C.

A cold front will plow across southern Ontario on Tuesday. This will clear the muggy air, and daytime temperatures the rest of the week in Barrie will be below normal. In fact, Wednesday will be a struggle to reach 10 C for a daytime high.
