It's not the heat, it's the humidity.

Matter of fact, it will be both over the next few days across southern Ontario.

From Barrie, west to Collingwood, and south to the Greater Toronto Area, Environment Canada has issued an orange heat warning.

Forecasters say daytime highs will range between 31 and 33 Celsius, and possibly as high as 36. There will be little relief at night, with lows between 21 and 24. The hottest days are expected to be Wednesday and Thursday. Humidex values will likely be in the low 40s.

There is also a yellow heat warning for northern Simcoe County, including the Midland and Orillia areas, and portions of Muskoka. While there won't be much temperature difference, humidex values may fall short of 40.

The hot and muggy weather will last through Friday, and possibly into the weekend.
