A company called Here After is using AI to create a new way to remember loved ones after they pass away with a sort of "limited immortality".
Don't worry, it's not as creepy as it sounds.
So, How does it work? It's pretty simple, actually. Firstly, The family member you wish to immortalize answers a series of questions designed to explore different aspects of their life like their childhood, family background, relationships, career, and more. Then, you can upload pictures to go along with those stories like their first car, prom date, or newborn baby.
Once those steps are complete, other family members can download a special app and begin asking it some of the questions that were set up. It will then speak back to you, telling you stories and allowing you to hear their voice again even after this person has passed away.
The service is free to try with a few different options for the full experience including subscription plans and one-time payments. The top tier allows for unlimited stories and pictures to be recorded with no limit on the number of family members or friends who can download the app and converse with your virtual avatar.

Here After is a pretty unique way to record your life story or the life story of someone you love. After a loss, many people would do anything to talk or just to hear their voice again, and this app seems to do one better than an old phone message or browsing through photos on Facebook.
