Ty Pennington ran that gamut of emotions last week after he went from the red carpet to the ICU in a few days.
The 58-year-old had to be intubated after a throat abscess blocked his airway. He is recovering but okay.
On his Instagram account, the HGTV star explained his week started off all sunshine and rainbows, with the Barbie premier, followed a few days later with him in the ICU needing surgery.
He says he had been dealing with a sore throat for several months, which was actually an abscess that had grown so large it was closing off his airway.
He posted his experience on his Instagram account, saying, "A great reminder to LISTEN to your body when it's telling you something ."
