Two people charged following probe into 'high- level cocaine trafficking' in Collingwood

OPP say the arrest of two men in connection with a months-long investigation has made "a significant impact in the illegal trafficking of drugs in multiple communities."

The investigation focused on what police allege was a high-level cocaine trafficker in Collingwood and area.

The suspects were arrested on Thursday.

Police say search warrants were executed at three locations and officers seized a kilogram brick of cocaine, powder cocaine and meth as well as other items with a street value of over $100,000.

A 43-year-old from Blue Mountains has been charged with:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

A 45-year-old from Midland has been charged with:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine

Both suspects have a court date in January.
