Provincial police say four people were injured in a crash between a car and pickup truck on Highway 26 in Clearview Township, east of Sunnidale Corners.

It happened around 4:40 p.m. on Monday resulting in the closure of the highway for several hours between Richardson Road and Strongville Road.

The lone driver of one of the vehicles was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with injuries police said are life-threatening. Three people from the other vehicle were injured, but the extent of their injuries is unknown, say police.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
