(UPDATE) Two workers in trauma centre after vehicle enters HWY 400 collision scene: OPP

Highway 400 collision

Two workers of an Ontario Ministry of Transportation subcontractor were injured after being hit by the driver of a passenger vehicle on Highway 400 southbound at Line 5 in Bradford.

OPP say the collision happened around 7 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say the workers were drivers of blocker trucks and that one of the vehicles was blocking for a previous collision when it was hit by the passenger vehicle, injuring the two workers who were standing outside their trucks.

According to the OPP, the driver and passenger of that vehicle were taken to a local hospital with undetermined injuries.

Both truck drivers were transported to a Toronto trauma centre where one of them is in serious but stable condition and the other is in life-threatening condition.

The southbound lanes of Highway 400 at Line 5 were reopened around 3 p.m.
