Multi-vehicle crash on HWY 400 after motorist stops to avoid turtle, OPP say

OPP say a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 400 near Waubaushene this afternoon was due to a motorist stopping to avoid striking a turtle.

In a post on X at 1:50 p.m., OPP said the northbound lanes were closed between Port Severn Road and Quarry Road.

OPP say the crash involved three vehicles, and added that the turtle did not survive.

They say the roadway is clear.

Charges are pending, according to officers.
