A section of Highway 400 has been reopened following an incident at an aluminum plant that sent toxic fumes into the air.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said the plant is in the area of the 400 and Arrow Road, near Sheppard Avenue in Toronto.
According to fire officials, an “out-of-control” reaction sent toxic smoke spewing into the air at the facility.
No injuries have been reported. Workers at the plant and nearby buildings were evacuated.
