Highway 400 pursuits early Wednesday lead to arrest of a suspect in Waubaushene

OPP allege they found stolen property in the suspect vehicle

An erratic driving complaint led to two separate police pursuits northbound on Highway 400 which were terminated north of Innisfil Beach Road around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Other police units were alerted about the suspect vehicle.

About an hour later, officers from Southern Georgian Bay and Orillia OPP detachments spotted a vehicle matching the description in a business parking lot in Waubaushene.

The driver was awoken by police and arrested by officers, and then transported to the OPP detachment in Midland for a drinking and driving investigation.

Police said a search of the vehicle turned up property that was allegedly stolen including clothing, meat products and pieces of identification.

A 31 year old man from Georgina is facing charges including dangerous operation of a vehicle, flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime under and over $5,000, identity theft and fraudulent use of a certificate of citizenship.
