A head-on crash just east of Alliston on claimed the life of an 82-year-old Newmarket resident.
Ontario Provincial Police say a vehicle collided with a transport truck around 8:30 Thursday evening on Highway 89 between the 8th and 9th Line in Essa Township. The female driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The road was closed in the area for more than six hours for the police investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage in the area between 8:00 p.m. and 8:32 p.m. to contact the Nottawasaga OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
